The Trail’s Edge Food, Fuel and Liquor store in Buckman’s history goes back to July 9, 2012, when it first opened its doors to the public. Almost exactly nine years later, on July 8, 2021, the building closed due to damage from a fire. Finally, over four years later on Oct. 5, Trail’s Edge celebrated its grand reopening.

In those four years, the original founders had given up ownership of the business, and the building lay dormant without an owner. It was only until Aug. 9 when Veeral Desai purchased the building that work began to get Trail’s Edge up and running again.

From that point, things moved very quickly. Gasoline and store products were purchased, employees were hired and volunteers were brought on to assist with bringing the store back to its former glory in very little time. The store was operational through a soft opening in September, with its grand reopening event taking place on Oct. 5.
