Badges of Honor: Morrison County deputy creates memorials to fallen Burnsville officers, firefighter

It’s hard to describe what it means to lose a fellow member of the law enforcement community, says John DeCock, a sergeant with the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office.
“We’re like a large family, so when you lose someone, it hurts,” DeCock said.
DeCock and members of emergency services teams across the state, region, and nation were left reeling on Feb. 18 when two Burnsville police officers and a Burnsville firefighter were killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic dispute call in the southern suburb of Minneapolis.
