Arianna Polonio: Car shows: More than showcasing antiques

Sunday, Sept. 13, marked my first time attending a car show, specifically the 51st Annual Lone Eagle Auto Club in Little Falls. Truth be told, I would have never attended one if my editor had not assigned me to go and capture some photos, and while I was hesitant, I have a whole new respect for car shows.

The day was sunny, but chilly. The cold wind was not a good match to my freshly washed hair, making me feel colder than usual. While I did not know where to start, I felt mostly drawn to the vibrant colors like yellow, sky blue and green cars.

The first car owners I approached were Ron and Dorothy Paulson, a couple from Sauk Rapids, who own a Chevrolet Belair from 1957 that had a striking Tropical turquoise color. Dorothy was the one who wanted to buy the car, and she said the previous owner let it sit for 17 years because they were afraid to drive it. However, the car resembles good memories for the couple.
