A $29,730 grant the City of Motley was awarded from Sourcewell will be going toward improving the Motley Veterans’ Memorial Park and the Converse Park in Motley.
“All of the grant is going to the parks. It’s a parks project,” said Motley City Clerk and Treasurer Tami Brotherton.
There are several improvements that will be done in Motley Veterans Memorial Park. For example, Brotherton said, the City is working with the Staples-Motley High School to have the shop class build a shed during the 2026-27 school year. Once completed, the City will buy the shed and install it in the park. In addition, a free lending library will be constructed in the park, along with sidewalks poured from the street to the lending library.
