The Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame marked its 25th year in 2025, celebrating the anglers, innovators and organizations that helped make Minnesota a fishing state like no other.

The Hall began in Walker, where a group of well-known anglers wanted a place to showcase the state’s sport-fishing heritage. The collection was first displayed inside Reeds Family Outfitters, and later moved to Gander Mountain in Brainerd. When that store closed, the Hall’s displays came to Little Falls, joining the Minnesota Fishing Museum. In 2013, the museum formally acquired the Hall of Fame, bringing the two collections together under one roof.

Executive Director Brenda Perlowski said the Hall was created to preserve Minnesota’s sport-fishing history and to recognize “the people who didn’t just catch fish, but helped shape the culture of fishing in our state.”
