Although there are now plenty of toys, sweets and other popular items with children at modern Arts & Crafts Fairs in Little Falls, this wasn’t always the case. For sisters Jacqueline Burns and Sarah Kuevi Akoe, one of the few vendors that appealed to them was a lollipop stand, where they looked forward to getting a sweet treat every year.

“That was where you went as a kid,” Kuevi Akoe said. “You scraped up your few dollars and you made sure you made it to that spot and got your lollipops.”

Years after the sisters first came upon the lollipop stand, the owner retired, leaving a lollipop-sized hole for children and sweet-toothed adults at subsequent Arts & Crafts Fairs. That was, however, until 2022, when the sisters opened up The Lollipop Shop at that year’s fair.
