Survey shows workforce professionals’ view of job search environment

Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program (RMCEP), the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and other workforce development professionals in northwest Minnesota serve thousands of job seekers every year, giving them insight into the current job search environment and how it has shifted over time.

Of the 51 RMCEP staff, DEED staff and other professionals in the region who completed a Job Search Experience survey in July, one (2%) said it was much easier for job seekers to find employment compared with a year ago. Six (12%) said it was somewhat easier, 17 (33%) said it was somewhat harder and eight (16%) said it was much harder. Nineteen (37%) reported the job search environment was about the same as last year.
