As the dream to launch a local food co-op in historic downtown Little Falls comes closer to reality, the Purple Carrot Market is excited to announce the launch of a Community Investment Campaign (CIC) which started on March 17. The campaign will raise funds to construct and open the highly anticipated local food co-op with a goal of raising $800,000 by May 23. These funds will be raised through tax deductible donations and by selling preferred shares of stock to co-op owners who reside in Minnesota. Proceeds from the CIC will be combined with grants and other fund sources to build a 4,500 square foot community owned grocery store located at the Victor Mall in downtown Little Falls.
The Purple Carrot Market celebrated the start of the Community Investment Campaign with a launch party on March 17 at Ciao Thyme. At the launch party, organizers shared that the Purple Carrot Market has 814 owners and so far has raised over $110,000 towards the campaign.
