Superintendent Greg Johnson gave an update in regard to the state of the Little Falls School District at the school board meeting, March 10.
Beginning with mentioning some of the celebrations, Johnson said the District continue to have expanding and thriving Community Services, the Little Flyers Child Care Center, which opened March 10, continuous improvement in special education, enhanced collaboration and activities and the success of the Flyer Fest, which was held last fall.
“And then giving a shout-out to our E-sports achievements and success as a new activity,” he said.
Highlighting fourth grade across the District, Johnson said the fourth grade students showed an increase of 14% reaching benchmark in a math assessment from fall to winter. Kindergarten and first grade also showed a decrease in high risk students from fall to winter. Eight kindergarten students also exited reading intervention in the winter. Over the last two years, Little Falls schools have increased proficiency rates by 6.5% in math on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs), he said.
