In his annual report to the Board of Commissioners during its Tuesday, Nov. 12 planning session, Morrison County Administrator Matt LeBlanc highlighted a year of strategic planning, emergency preparedness and community engagement, all while navigating the ongoing challenges of staffing and infrastructure.
One of the key focuses for the administration in 2024 was the county’s strategic planning efforts. LeBlanc noted that the 10-year plan, which was first developed three years ago, has become a living document that is regularly reviewed and updated.
“Commissioner (Greg) Blaine challenged or requested us to keep it off the shelf, and so I’m proud that the staff has continued to readdress our strategic planning efforts,” LeBlanc said. “We take it up off the shelf, we open it back up and dust it off every first quarter, and we review our 10-year plan. We get input from department heads and stakeholders. And as we go along, and we’re two years into it now, it is providing some direction. As you know, of course, we’re bringing it to the Board for approval for the direction we want to go. And then we refer to it quite often.”
