In collaboration between the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum, Lakeland Public Television, Pioneer Public Television and The Falls Theatre, the first-ever Veterans Day Film Festival, A Salute to MN Veterans on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.

“I think it’s a great example of the Minnesota Public Television Association stations all coming together to help stories about our own regions and helping the new Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum that’s being built. We’re partnering with them to help capture these stories. That’s important to our legacy, honoring the memory of our veterans across the state,” said Jeff Hanks, CEO at Lakeland Public Television.

Six films were shown in the afternoon and early evening of Veterans Day—Dedicated to Care: LTC Hortense McKay, Boys of Bataan, Night Wings: WWII OSS Ops, Frozen in Time: The Vietnam War. Resolute: Minnesota Stories from Kabul 2021 and Gen. John Vessey Jr.: Cold War Soldier & Statesman. The films, Hanks said, told the stories of local veterans.
