City Engineer and Public Works Director Greg Kimman told the City Council there are two older hangars at the airport built in the 1960s that are in need of rehabilitation. He requested approval to submit a grant application for the project through the FAA. If awarded, they would work with TKDA for design services. TKDA is a St. Paul-based engineering consultant.
TKDA’s proposed fee is $1,800. The federal portion of the total proposed project would be 90%, state 5%, and local share 5%, which is $2,220 each for the city and county, Kimman said.
