Members of the Lake Shamineau Lake Improvement District (LID) presented before the Morrison County Board of Commissioners Tuesday, Oct. 3, to demonstrate their activities over the past year and their plans for the lake’s future.
Lake Shamineau LID Board Administrator Cindy Kevern gave the presentation to the County Board, attending the meeting virtually. LID Chair Rick Rosar was also in attendance virtually, with Director Bob Ingle attending in person.
Kevern started by showing a map highlighting where Freshwater Scientific Services surveyed the lake on June 15, and where they found the aquatic invasive species (AIS) Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) or Curly Leaf Pondweed (CLP). No substantial areas of EWM were found, with more CLP found in the southeastern portion of the lake.
