What fate will politicians in Washington, D.C. hand down to farmers across the country, including Morrison County? While much remains unknown at this time, one thing is for sure — they heard from farmers and those representing the agricultural industry during the annual National Farmers Union Fly-In, Sept. 13-16.

Carol Anderson, chair of the Minnesota Farmers Union Executive Committee and Executive Director of the Community Development of Morrison County, and her husband, Steve, traveled to Washington, D.C. and have done so every year for the last 10-15 years.

“It’s that important, because if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu, so farmers have to go to Washington and in some cases, see your representatives in the state. It carries a little bit of a bigger impact when you go to Washington,” she said.
