First responders flooded Pierz Park Thursday night, July 9, for the newly renovated playground’s grand opening ceremony. This is only the beginning of the measures meant to revamp the space.
“It's gonna be an iconic piece for the kids from now until the next 30 years, hopefully,” Pierz Mayor Gary Berg said. “So it's good for the community.”
Standard playground equipment has a lifetime around eight to 10 years, as reported by the supplier AAA State of Play . The original playground was built in the late 1980s, but was damaged by vandals in 2017.
