The Little Falls City Council approved a new tax increment financing district and business subsidy package Monday to help Barrett Petfood address wastewater infrastructure needs tied to a planned $40 million expansion on the city’s east side.
Council members voted unanimously to establish TIF District 48 for Barrett Land LLC, the development arm of Barrett Petfood, and approve a related business subsidy resolution outlining up to $3.15 million in tax increment assistance.
The assistance is aimed primarily at wastewater pretreatment and related infrastructure, not the full cost of the company’s larger plant expansion.
