A tension fabric building may be the answer to the Little Falls School District’s challenge of having enough gym space to meet the needs of its programs, sports and activities.
Different from the community recreation center proposed in 2022, several teachers, district educators and members of the public traveled to Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary School in Le Sueur Jan. 19 to view the school’s fabric tension building gym and learn how it serves both the school and the community. The building is similar to the tension fabric gymnasium being proposed in Little Falls under Question 2 of the district’s April 14 referendum.
The need for additional gym space in the Little Falls School District has been known for many years. A facility assessment conducted in 2008 by Johnson Controls found that “The existing gym does not provide adequate space for all the existing programs, sports and activities.”
