When Don Miller opened Miller’s TV and Audio on Little Falls’ west side in 1955, television was still a curiosity and color television was barely a year old.

In many homes, a television set wasn’t yet the centerpiece of daily life. In some, it wasn’t there at all.

Miller, however, was convinced a television boom was coming.

At the time, Miller was a young husband and father, already balancing big responsibilities on the farm. He and his wife, Adeline, would go on to raise eight children together. Three were already part of the family when Miller made the decision that would carry him from the predictability of farming into the uncertainty of a new career.
