Barbecue sauce.
In Swanville, some might say it’s the Eighth Wonder of the World.
For three days in June, about 4,000 people stand in line during the three days of Swanville’s Mid-Summer Carnival for the Lions Club’s world-famous chicken dinner.
But it’s not because of the chicken. It’s because of the homemade barbecue sauce baked into the chicken on a charcoal grill.
"Just a handful of people know the recipe for the Swanville Lions’ barbecue sauce," said Dale Lambrecht, who took over leading sauce-making duties from Con Natvig when the loyal Lion retired as the keeper of the sauce recipe more than decade ago.
