As the construction of the 40,000-sqaure-foot museum next to Camp Ripley in Little Falls is well underway, Randal Dietrich, executive director of the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum estimates the construction is now about halfway done.
“Right now, sitting at the beginning of June, I see us at kind of the midpoint of all that construction happening out there along Highway 371, the idea being that Breitbach Construction will finish up their work probably at the end of January 2026,” he said.
Dietrich anticipates it will take the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum a minimum of six months to complete the proper movement of tens and thousands of artifacts to the new location and to develop the galleries. With that in mind, he estimates that the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum will open its new location to the public in the mid-to-late summer of 2026.
