Morrison County’s iconic historic courthouse is set to receive a much-needed facelift, as county officials have approved plans for significant renovations to improve accessibility and preserve the building’s historic character. The project, which has been in discussion for over two years, will focus on making the courthouse ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant while maintaining its status as a vital resource for county operations.

Morrison County Administrator Matt LeBlanc presented an update on the project during the Thursday, Dec. 12, Board of Commissioners planning session. The renovation plans include two major components: the creation of ADA-compliant bathrooms on the first floor and the replacement of the exterior ramp with an ADA-compliant version.
