As the crisp autumn air settles in, the team at Lakeshirts is gearing up for a special celebration — both for its 40th anniversary and for Manufacturing Month in Little Falls.
Lakeshirts, a leading apparel decorator and distributor based in Detroit Lakes, first opened its doors in 1984, humble beginnings that saw the company’s founders screen printing T-shirts by hand in a basement. Over the decades, the company has grown into one of the largest screen printers in the country, expanding to multiple locations including their headquarters in Detroit Lakes and a thriving facility in Little Falls.
“It’s kind of a fun year for us,” said Viva Lauinger, a member of Lakeshirts’ marketing team. “We would put T-shirts on a cookie sheet and do manual screen printing, and then we would dry them in a couple second-hand ovens that we had. We have been growing and growing and growing for decades.”
