“There’s nothing in life more liberating than fighting for a cause larger than yourself.”
Those were the words shared by Sen. Amy Klobuchar at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley the day before Memorial Day as she quoted the last words spoken to her by friend and former United States Senator John McCain shortly before his death on August 25, 2018.
“Fighting for a cause larger than yourself” is what duty and service to country is about for fallen heroes like those buried at the cemetery, Klobuchar said, and what citizens must remember as they go forward.
