Eric Vickstrom joins Royalton Police Department

Growing up in Buckman, Eric Vickstrom joined the Army National Guard during his junior year at Healy High School in Pierz. Now, he is the new full-time officer at Royalton Police Department. It is something the community, along with Police Chief Jason McDonald, are thrilled about.
“That’s going to be a benefit to the city to get better coverage back on the evenings again,” McDonald said. “Eric is also not a brand new officer, so he brings some good experience and will be a good resource for the city.”
Looking back, Vickstrom said it was his experience during the six years he served with the Army National Guard as a specialist (E4) that led him to a career in law enforcement.
