Seeing the future: Falls Optical and Northern Eye Center success story

When Dr. Ken Dodge dreamed of opening his own optometry practice, he knew he wanted more than a career helping people see better. Through careful planning, a willingness to take calculated risk, and guidance from the North Central Small Business Development Center (SBDC), that dream has grown into Falls Optical and Northern Eye Center, a thriving rural practice serving thousands of patients throughout central Minnesota.

Today, with locations in Little Falls and Pierz and a patient base of more than 4,000 people, Dr. Dodge’s practice continues to grow while delivering personalized eye care close to home. Along the way, the North Central SBDC became an important partner, helping him navigate one of the biggest milestones in his business journey: expanding into a new, purpose-built facility.
