Lucy’s Cafe brings fresh flavors and family flair to Little Falls

When Louise Kloss’s husband, Adrian Kloss, first proposed opening an ice cream and coffee shop three years ago, she was hesitant. But after finding the perfect location and diving headfirst into their new venture, Louise (who goes by Lucy among family members) has transformed the former Caffe Strolaga, with the address 500 Broadway East, into a vibrant community hub — Lucy’s Cafe.

The cafe, which opened its doors on Feb. 1 and is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday, has already made a splash in the small town, earning rave reviews from locals on the Little Falls Rant and Rave page. The Kloss duo shared the story behind the new business and their vision for the future.

“I was a receptionist for Family Medical Center, and he’s like, ‘Let’s buy the coffee shop. Let’s do it.’” Louise said. “I’m like, ‘No.’ He’s like, ‘Come on, let’s do it.’ I’m like, ‘OK,’ so here we are. It’s been an adventure.”
