Recognizing the value of opening a family-friendly restaurant in Upsala — and with some tenacious encouragement by Mayor Rollie Johnson and other community members — Mike and Diane Stuckel officially purchased what was formerly known as Cynthia’s Kitchen in March.
Now, since they opened in June, it brings them great joy to see community members gather, young and old, for a good meal and great company. It was also what ultimately led them to open Nana’s Kitchen, they said.
“There was no place for community members to come sit down and have a meal with their kids without being in a bar atmosphere. That’s what really triggered it,” Diane said. “One of the big reasons we bought this restaurant too was because my daughter lives in the community and I want something for them to have and incorporate.”
