Being named “Small Business of the Year” by the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism means tremendously to those working at Brenda’s Seasonal Specialties in Little Falls. Nevertheless, said owner Brenda Vaverek, it was also a complete shock.

   “There are so many different businesses that do similar to what we do,” she said.

Brenda’s Seasonal Specialties’ main focus is embroidery and vinyl printing and employs five people. What makes it even more special, she said, is that it is a family business. Her daughter-in-law, Cheyanne Vaverek, who is married to her son, Andy, works as the manager. Another daughter-in-law, Heather Vaverek, who is married to her other son, Ryan, is the bookkeeper, and her niece, Amanda Drong, works as a production specialist. From time to time, her grandchildren Emma Vaverek and Adalizia Pachan - O’Brien.
