Every year, fun-loving people look forward to Bowlus Fun Day, 12 hours of non-stop fun.

The event sponsored by the Bowlus Fire and Rescue and Bowlus First Response Teams is set for Sunday, July 2, this year.

Bowlus is located on Highway 26, five miles west of Royalton.

A 5K walk/run begins at the City Park at 8:30 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. A 1K fun walk/run will follow. Proceeds go to youth activities in the local Catholic parishes. Call Christopher Borash at (320) 345-1702 for details.

All are invited to an outdoor polka Mass on the grounds of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church at 10 a.m.

Then the parade down Main Street kicks off the fun beginning at 11:15 a.m. Call Phil Rudolph at (320) 232-0965 for details.

For the next 12 hours, from noon – midnight, visitors can enjoy continuous music, activities, rides, games and food for all ages in the Bowlus City Park. Activities include kids’ games, Bowlus Fun line rides, pull tabs and refreshments.

Tours of Bowlus will be given on the Bowlus Fun Train throughout the day, a well.

At 2:30 p.m., men’s and women’s water fights will ensue, including area fire departments competing.

Polka music by Gene Retka fills the park from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the covered band shell.

Dance the night away with music from Platinum FM, from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. At dusk, everyone can enjoy a fireworks display.
