For 25 years, members of the Memorial Rifle Squad at the Little Falls State Veterans Cemetery have helped ensure that veterans receive a final farewell with dignity and respect.
The organization celebrated its 25th anniversary Oct. 17 with a dinner at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Club in Little Falls, bringing members together to recognize a quarter-century of service to veterans and their families.
According to Terence Schwab, adjutant of the Little Falls Memorial Rifle Squad, David Swantek, director of memorial affairs for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, was the keynote speaker. Swantek reflected on the development of the organization and the role its volunteers have played in providing military funeral honors at the cemetery.
